Dear Community,

This year’s New Year Celebration will be held on Sunday, January 8th, 2006, at the Eagle Heights Community Center gymnasium. The Community Center’s address is: 611 Eagle Heights, Madison, WI. The program begins at 2:30 PM with presentations by the Madison Russian School students. Singing and dancing with Ded Moroz and Snegurochka will follow. At 3:30 PM we plan on starting the potluck and socializing.

This year we will have booths from two of the Russian stores in Milwaukee: International Foods and the Russian Gallery. The vendors are planning on bringing a standard assortment of their products for sale, however, if there are any special requests for specific goods, please contact Gennady Bekasov (bekasov@hotmail.com) with the request so that he can coordinate it with the stores. These special orders need to be made before December 16th, 2005 so please contact Gennady this week!!! ***If the weather conditions make road travel dangerous on the day of our celebration, the stores may not be able to attend.***

As always, this will be a potluck event. For the potluck to be successful, we would like to ask everyone to participate! Please contact the Potluck Coordinator, Olga Kozyreva at kozyrevaolga@yahoo.com as soon as possible to ensure that the menu is diverse and that there is enough of everything.

Families that wish to have their children receive a present from Ded Moroz must register and pay $5 per child before December 30th. ***Please keep in mind that the amount of presents bought will be determined by the number of children who have registered and paid for the event before December 30th. There is a $1 suggested entry cost for each adult and child (who is not receiving a present) in the event. If a child has been registered to receive a present from Ded Moroz, the above-mentioned $1 does not need to be paid for them.

The $5 for the presents can be paid to the school teachers either in cash or by check (made out to “Madision Russian School”). Anyone who is unable to make their payment through one of the teachers may send a check (made out to “Madision Russian School”) to Inna Reinfeldt: 910 Questa Ridge Trail, Verona, WI, 53593. The suggested entry price of $1 can be paid at the door before the event.

Of course, additional financial donations to help support the Madison Russian School will be welcome. Also, anyone who would like to volunteer to help at the event (decorating, working at the reception table, setting up the hall, cleaning up) please contact Maryna Gumenyuk (gumenyuk@wisc.edu) or Ludmila Aslanukova (dumaney@hotmail.com).

Please keep in mind that Inna Reinfeldt will be out of town from Dec. 13th — Dec. 28th, so please direct any questions to Maryna Gumenyuk (gumenyuk@wisc.edu) or Ludmila Aslanukova (dumaney@hotmail.com).

We hope to see you all at this year’s celebration!!

Inna Reinfeldt, Gennady Bekasov,

Daria Vassina, Irina Tvedt,
